The Reflection Tool, structured in the form of a questionnaire, serves as a comprehensive instrument designed to foster reflection, dialogue, and awareness surrounding disability and inclusion themes within preschool settings. Tailored specifically for preschool teachers and staff, this tool is instrumental in promoting a deeper understanding of early-age behavioral disabilities and their implications for inclusive education.
At its core, the reflection tool provides a structured framework for educators and school staff to examine their current practices, beliefs, and attitudes towards disability and inclusion. Through a series of prompts, open and closed questions, participants are encouraged to reflect on their experiences, perceptions, and challenges related to supporting children with behavioral disabilities in the classroom.
The Reflection Tool encompasses two primary areas of examination: school observations and family and community engagement
Classroom ObservationUnderstanding classroom environment, teaching methods, and peer interactions to assess current practices and identify areas for potential improvement in promoting inclusivity and tailored support for all children, including those with behavioral disabilities. |
Family and Community EngagementEvaluating the importance of existing approaches to family and community engagement, including communication strategies and utilization of community resources, with the goal of understanding current strengths and areas needing development in fostering partnerships and supporting diverse families within the community. |
If you are an educator/specialist working in a preschool setting and you are willing to reflect on your current practices, feel free to answer the Reflection Tool below. At the end of the questionnaire you can leave your email to receive feedback and opportunities for professional development within the PINC activities.
