More detailsIn the European Union, a notable percentage of children have special educational needs, including behavioral or emotional difficulties. However, the level of inclusive practices in Europe varies widely, with many children with disabilities not enrolled in early childhood education and care services. This lack of inclusivity is concerning, as it impacts crucial developmental years for children's social and emotional skills, potentially leading to exclusion.
Drawing inspiration from successful approaches and policies, PINC seeks to enhance educators' understanding of inclusive preschool practices. The goal of PINC is to create lasting positive change, benefiting not only children with behavioral disabilities but also their families and communities. |
Objectives
The main aim of PINC is to foster inclusion in Early Childhood Education
and Care for children with disabilities and support quality and inclusive education. This will be achieved through the following goals: O1. To raise awareness on early age disability among educators and parents O2. To share best practices among educators to address the target O3. To empower preschool teachers with competences to implement inclusive education O4. To foster international cooperation in the field of inclusion for children with disabilities |
