We are excited to share the latest developments from the PINC project. Following our first Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) in Bologna, we have been diligently working on our first major project result: the Reflection Tool. The Reflection Tool, structured in the form of a comprehensive questionnaire, is designed to foster reflection, dialogue, and awareness surrounding disability and inclusion themes within preschool settings. Tailored specifically for preschool teachers and staff, this tool is instrumental in promoting a deeper understanding of early-age behavioral disabilities and their implications for inclusive education. At its core, the Reflection Tool provides a structured framework for educators and school staff to examine their current practices, beliefs, and attitudes towards disability and inclusion. Through a series of prompts, open and closed questions, participants are encouraged to reflect on their experiences, perceptions, and challenges related to supporting children with behavioral disabilities in the classroom. The tool encompasses two primary areas of examination:
School Observations: This section guides educators in assessing their classroom environment, teaching strategies, and interactions with children. It prompts reflection on how inclusive practices are currently implemented and identifies areas for improvement. Family and Community Engagement: This part focuses on the relationships and communication between the school, families, and the broader community. It encourages educators to think about how they can better support families and involve the community in fostering an inclusive educational environment. We are now in the phase of sharing the Reflection Tool with as many educators as possible in our partner countries—Spain, Romania, Lithuania, and Estonia—and beyond. Our goal is to gather extensive feedback and insights that will help refine our approach and enhance the effectiveness of inclusive practices in early childhood education. We invite all preschool educators, staff, and anyone involved in early childhood education to engage with this tool. Your participation will not only contribute to the success of the PINC project but also help create more inclusive and supportive environments for all children. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to fostering inclusivity in education. Stay tuned for more updates on our progress and upcoming activities!
